Especially suitable for live performance, FabFilter Simplon is a simplified version of FabFilter Volcano with two independent multimode filters providing low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass responses with 12/24/48 dB/octave slopes. The filters can be used in serial or parallel mode.

Using close microphone techniques at Wellspring Studios in Boston, we captured some amazing brush samples. Nobody does these right, we finally did. Lots of brush snare hits, swirls, taps, strokes as well as brush toms and brush cymbals. The cymbals are stereo to give a rich overall ambience. Multi velocity snares and toms (separate samples for soft and loud hits) for the utmost in dynamic realism. Boston studio musician Jeff Allison, also a sound engineer for Kurzweil Music Systems described these as "some of the nicest drum samples I’ve heard in a really long time. These are great."

The UA Studio Onscreen DVD Volume 1 gives the novice to intermediate audio engineer a view into the entire process of creating, recording, and mastering a song. We follow the artists from a project studio preproduction session, into a professional studio recording session, then finally to mastering. In this video, miking techniques are demonstrated utilizing Universal Audio's tube and solid-state analog hardware. Mixing and mastering techniques are demonstrated with the UAD-1 DSP card and vintage analog emulation plug-ins. Together with Steinberg's Cubase line of software recording and mixing tools, you'll see how UA products can inject old world analog tone into your DAW recordings.
