HSDV is a new concept in drum sample library for Kontakt. Instead of static samples and snapshots of synth drums with little or no ability to edit them to your liking or requirements, HSDV is a fully fledged five channel drum synth that gives you full control over the way you can sculpt and shape your electronic drum sounds.

The Oberheim Matrix-1000 was a direct descendent of the powerful Xpander and Matrix 12 and behind its deceptively simple front panel was a powerhouse 6-voice synth with a spec that was considerably more impressive than any other analogue synth of the time. The Matrix series had a typical voice architecture of two oscillators into a resonant filter into an amplifier and out but at the heart of the entire Matrix series (not surprisingly) was a sophisticated modulation matrix that allowed almost anything to be routed to anything putting them on a par with modular synths of old.

The Moog Taurus bass pedal synth was a totally unique product (then and now) in that it was a simple bass synth that could be played with the feet.The Taurus was originally planned as a component of a big synth system called 'Constellation' comprising the 'Apollo' (later to become the PolyMoog) for chords, the 'Lyra' for melodies and the Taurus pedals for bass accompaniment and the proposed system was not unlike some huge (and expensive!) hi-tech organ.

Once upon a time, a 'pad' was a simple analogue synth sound - typically a smooth, rounded string patch with the filter reduced. The term 'pad' was used as it was used to pad out the track - there but not there... you're not aware of its presence but the track sounds empty without it. However, with advances in synth technology and functionality, the term took on new proportions as samples were layered to create hybrids and instead of simple analogue oscillators, it was possible to layer almost any sound on top of another.
