When we heard how electro producer, DJ and remixer Charles Feelgood (Diddy, Lady Gaga, Ashlee Simpson, Billie Holiday) had tweaked the New York Studios Vol. 2 SDX™ for Superior Drummer 2.0® to almost beyond recognition in his ingenious productions, we had no option but to have him design a unique set of presets so he could share his incomparable brand of electro, house and disco with the world.

If you listened to any American progressive metal over the past five years, you have more than likely heard his work. Syncopated rhythms, inspiring guitar tones and epic drum sounds have been his production calling card since he burst onto the metal scene in 2005. Thats right, were talking about Misha "Bulb" Mansoor, the prolific musician and producer behind metal projects like Periphery, Haunted Shores and Of Man Not Of Machine, just to name a few.

This Jazz EZX features samples performed by the legendary Drum Virtuoso/Pioneer Roy Futureman Wooten. Futureman is a multiple Grammy award winning composer, inventor, and multi-instrumentalist who has been a pioneer in using sampled drums since 1985. He has shared the stage and numerous albums with many Jazz legends. Roy started playing acoustic drums as a young child with his brothers in Virginia. From that he has come a long way and is now renowned for playing what is called a SynthAxe-Drumitar to trigger drum samples.

The Ludwig Drum Company had little idea what was about to hit them in the months following February 9th 1964, The Beatles debut U.S. Television appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The band were a sensation and almost overnight everyone wanted to own a set of Ludwig drums just like Ringo's. In fact, Ludwig were still struggling to keep up with demand when along came another drumming icon John Bonham. As well as his use of the Supraphonic snare drum, Bonham popularised larger sizes, including the 24" bass drum similar to the one sampled for the Vintage Rock Brushes and Sticks EZX. This 60's era Ludwig set belongs to 2khz Studio owner Nick Yeatman and we were very happy he lent it to us so we could capture that phat and funky Ludwig sound.
